Now that the exterior and engine of Tommy's Escort are as smooth as possible, it was time to build an interior that would round out the total package. After showing for a couple years with the factory interior with some gray tweed pieces, it was time to change the look all together. All of the factory panels were pulled out and stripped so the new interior color could be added, this time Tommy chose to go with tan. Every thing from the headliner to the dash was wrapped using tan tweed.

The seats were also tweeded with some tan vinyl on the back and sides and some orange velvet inserts running through the center. The tops of the front seats were cut down to give them a low back look. The rear seat was also cut down and sectioned in the center to give room for the hydraulic pumps to stick through. The rear seat was also wrapped in tan tweed and vinyl and had the orange velvet inserts stitched in the middle of them to match the front seats. The door panels were shaved of the door locks as well as the interior door handles and arm rests. This gave the doors a smooth, custom look to them. When the tweed was put on the door panels, Tommy also added the same orange velvet inserts as the seats. While the interior was out, the dash cluster was painted to match the car and the steering wheel was swapped for a Grant model. Tommy did all of the interior work with the help of Number 1 Upholstery in Wilmington.
