2nd Annual Rivercity Sportruck & Car show
2nd Annual Rivercity Sportruck & Car show
Jacksonville, Florida was the place for the 2nd Annual Rivercity Sportruck Car & Truck show. I decided to hit the show and see what the hype was about. So on that morning I jumped into Todd Gilbert's badass S-10 and ventured north. Finding the show was not hard; all we had to do is follow the minis heading towards the show. Once arriving to the show we were greeted by the very friendly members of the Rivercity Sportruck truck club. Everyone was really cool and excited on the turn out of the show. The previous year the show generated almost a hundred participants, but this year they encouraged many more people to come to the show. They almost had two hundred and fifty entries.
At the show there were some awesome cars and trucks. It had from mini trucks to tuners to classics. There even was a new Mini. The number of tuners increased drastically that the members of the Rivercity Sportruck club needed to expand on their class. Some truly killer tuners did make their debut and some showed their new modifications. The qualities of vehicles were outstanding. There was a jet black Chevelle with leather interior and white racing stripes that made me daydream of having it. It was a real pleasure to walk around and take pics of these works of art. The day was clear and sunny, perfect for a car show.
At trophy time, the finalists of the Dustin Kish scholarship fund were rewarded. The individuals were from near by schools that applied for the scholarship. To be granted the award was to have a strong GPA. Much props to those winners that worked very hard for this opportunity. The awards ceremony went without a hitch. Everyone was pleased, and content of the show. As we were leaving we made a promised that we would come back next year with some cavalry to enjoy this show again. Much props to the Rivercity Sportruck club for putting on the very enjoyable event.
