Lowdown Showdown
Aaah yeah! This is my first truck show of the season and one of my favorites. As I flew into OKC Friday I would be picked up by 2 stunning females and taken to meet up with the crew from Lower Level along with Junior from Tailgate. After gathering everyone and figuring out the night's festivities we started things out with a meal at a local Mexican restaurant. With come funny as stories being told around the table of 30 people the waitress seemed to mix my order with Juniors and thought she had them all wrong so took mine while Junior ate half of his. Turns out she had them correct but switched around. So basically we ended up with a meal and a half each for the price of one. Not a bad deal I guess. With the meal down it was time for Ben to pick me up in the Moo Cow Ranger and take me to my hotel room where I would get ready to hit City Walk where we would meet up with Kevin and Mark from Pleasures. With the watchful eyes of use guys and the eye candy prancing around us, we managed to get enough alcohol in our systems just before they shut down and kicked us all out.
As we make our journey back to the hotel so I could get some shuteye, I managed to stumble across Chas. He had managed to make his way into my room and was in bed waiting with open arms as I arrived. Having witnessed a miracle of a sober Chas, I decided to blabber about and keep him awake till about 430 in the morning before passing out and getting ready for the show for the next day.
Saturday morning we would wake up around 10am, pull ourselves out of bed and managed to get up and ready for the morning festivities. Chas took off with Ronnie from Phlatout Magazine and Bobby to go unload his truck at the show grounds. Mean while I was left watching Ice Age while waiting for Kevin from Pleasures to pick me up and get me to the show grounds. Upon our arrival most of the show goer's where in full force with their rides cleaned up and the beer drinking was already on. After parking we found Jimmy from Lower Level where he would hook me up with a golf cart so my lazy ass wouldn't be left walking around all day long. My first objective; get Kevin and his cooler of 6 point beer to the Pleasures area where I would return later to help with the drinking festivities. After dropping him off I found Chas cleaning his ride so I sat there and supervised till he was complete so we could make our rounds. With Chas done and in the cart we were off. We ran into the guys from Ekstensive, B.A.D, Street Skins along with other vendors in attendance. With ass kissing behind us,
we hooked up with some friends I haven't seen in awhile along with those I see more then I'd like. Some of the clubs in attendance were RA, Pleasures, NC, ST, Kontradictions and EC not to mention many others. All in all this was a very good turn out.
Saturday Afternoon would bring better light so Chas and myself parked the cart and made our way around the show snapping photos. I felt like I needed one of those child harness rope things to keep Chas moving as he had a habit of stopping often to talk with people he says like every weekend. With the show covered we heard mention of a bikini contest so we made our way onto the stage. This was supposed to be a clean contest as kids were in attendance. But what custom enthusiast is going to let clothing stay on a hot female? With the chant of skin to win some of the contestants shed their tops in hopes of winning the $100 prize. It was officially turned into Girls gone wild. With the contest complete and the one girl staying clothed named the winner, we went around and lined up a few features and tracked down the bikini contest winner to use as a model. Chas, Kevin and myself were now off to our secret location to do the shoots. In the middle of one shoot I would get a call from Junior wanting to know where we were as he was kicked out of his location (this would be a familiar thing for him this day). The nice guy that I am, I gave him direction to my location where we would share features and swap women. In the middle of our shoots the building I was next to started going off. Some how the alarm had been tripped, it would be a matter of time before the cops would show up (which wouldn't be our last time dealing with cops this day.). As they arrived with attitude we managed to talk our way into finishing off what we went there to do. With the job done and the beer now occupying our systems it was time to head to the hotel to get ready for the night.
The one thing about LDSD is the Saturday night festivity! If you've never been, after this coverage you will wish you had gone! We like to call this part of the show Lowdown Hodown, and man was this shit wild. As we arrived we made our way over to where all of ST, RA, NC and ST where hanging out. Turns out some kids were stealing beer out of a cooler of ST's so there was a fight about ready to brake out. The funny thing was, the kids who took the beer where instigating it all. As they gathered back up Chas and I managed to get as close to the 2 groups to ensure us a front row seat to the action. Now how is this for irony, as the groups yelled back and forth with the Kids starting shit
