As with most people, simply lowering his S-10 didn't quite meet the requirements that Chris had in mind. He contacted Jody Hall at the Drop Shop in Pikeville, Kentucky for some help in the altitude department. Jody listened to what Chris had in mind and rolled the S-10 in his shop for the necessary adjustments. Jody started off with a clean suspension drop consisting of a 3" notch in the rear frame rails, followed by tossing the factory leaf springs and replacing them with a Pete & Jakes triangulated reverse 4-link. Jody also used Bell Tech 3" drop spindles to help bring the nose of the S-10 down a little closer to earth, before he installed air bags at all four corners. The entire air ride system consists of two 3-gallon air tanks, two compressors and electric valves, courtesy of The Drop Shop. But Jody wasn't quite finished.

Chris wasn't looking for just another S-10 in the crowd, so Jody broke out the welder and saw and went back to work getting the S-10 still closer to the pavement. Jody body dropped the cab a total of 3 ¼" and reworked the frame to accommodate the 6 ¼" body dropped bed. Since the floor had been raised in the cab for the body drop, Jody also installed a tilt steering column out of a 1989 Blazer. Chris was definitely not rolling mild any longer.
