Chris next turned his focus to the outside metal of his S-10 by contacting John Cline at Tennessee Rod Shop of Bristol, Tennessee. John took Chris's wish list and began working on getting the smooth appearance that was desired. First, John shaved the emblems, antenna and door handles, followed by smoothing the front bumper.

Next, John removed all wanted item from the wiper cowl, shaved it and installed a Street Beat sliding ragtop.

In the rear, John tossed the factory bumper in the trash and replaced it with a Sir Michael's roll pan, complete with custom cut 1939 Ford taillights.

For the hot rod inspired look Chris wanted, John installed a Sir Michael's tailgate skin, with shaved bodyline. Finishing off the exterior mods, John replaced the factory hood with a cowl induction unit from East Coast Customs and a 1993 GMC S-15 grille, with a Trenz billet insert as the final touch.
