July was definitely the month year to date of meeting new people and partying at big ass shows. Hitting big shows of the year such as Pigeon Forge, Lowdown Showdown to Texas Heat Wave definitely left me with way more to talk about then I care to type out in this months write up. To give a brief blurb about my weekends this month I'll try and recap the best as possible.
Starting off July wasn't all that bad, it was on the down ward sloop of Lowdown Showdown in Noble, Oklahoma where the Lower Level guys along with Pleasures proceeded to get me projectile vomiting in a limo which Lower Level had rented for me. Rumor has it I drank a lot, but I couldn't tell you.
Following up in the state of Okie would be Pigeon Forge, Tennessee where every day was spent kickin' it and every night spent running from cops. Showing up Wednesday night would give us one more night to cause trouble on the go-kart tracks with my buddies from Exclusive Styles. Through out the weekend we managed to get the boot from 7 of the 10 go-kart tracks we stepped foot on, and 3 of them we ended up having to deal with the police. Although a few cops got a chuckle from our "rubbin' is racin'" mentality, they still had to give us the talk. Come Saturday night we rounded up about 35 to 40 people and decided to rave terror on one certain track. While there; Myself, Kris, Mike Finnegan, Daniel, Phil, Thom amongst others proceeded to go for about 10 extra laps where we would draw every employee at the grounds to contain us. After thinking things where contained, Phil pulled out a stunt only he would handle. After pitting finally, he jumped out ran to the front Kart and took off for a victory lap. After unbuckling and bailing out of the track the cops where already blocking off exits. What a rush, Kris' sweet-talking managed to get us out with nothing more then a scolding.
If you are not one that likes adventures or pushing the limits, then don't get around a group of guys with names such as Garrick, Phil, Mike, Daniel, Kris, Thom, etc…. Those guys will get you nothing more then stressed about whether or not you have enough money to bail yourself out of jail.
Coming the next weekend I would find myself in Spo-compton (Spokane), Washington. While there we would introduce Jack to BBQ and swimming pools. Hanging with the Vision's guys is always a good time, and Jason with his "cartman" like voice is hilarious. After hanging the night with them and covering the show I headed home for some much needed rest.
With a long week of work (4 days) it was time to hit up Austin, Texas where I would find myself at a place called the Yellow Rose enjoying the sites and sounds. Going to big shows is always entertaining with the elite clubs hanging at hotels where everyone just parties. The ST/NC guys always seem to amaze me showing up with a newborn goat, which they ended up using blue hair dye on along with chroming his horns and panting his claws with purple finger nail polish.
I met a lot of people this month and I'm looking forward to many more encounters with each and every one of them to sit back and kick down some cold ones. The guys from 2 Low Xtremes, all of the normal SSM chat groupies who I've talked to forever but finally met. It truly has been a month I will not soon forget and many faces I will remember forever.
