For my first time arrival at an Indy Truck and Compact bash I would have to say this is a great show. There were plenty of rides to look at (3,029 participants) and lots of people to interact with and get down a few drinks with the 13,232 spectators. The weather even cooperated by being in the low 70’s for the show and no rainmaking walking the large grounds fairly easy.As I arrived Friday afternoon Brett and Melissa would pick me up from the airport and get me checked into our hotel. After that we’d begin drinking and meet up with many other people. Koolaid was already at full force carrying a 3-gallon gas can filled with Everclear making sure people where having fun taking shots. Once 5 came about we’d round everyone up and head to a Mexican restaurant for some grub. The rest of the night was blurred and my night was cut short for some reason. Haha…As Saturday arrived Oliver and Pops from Domination the Video would pick me up and we’d grab some grub and hit the show. On our arrival we’d begin our quest to cover the entire event in one day. As walking the show grounds I’d meet up with Douggie (Y2Kmysterio) and we’d walk the show and meet new people along the way. After becoming star struck by meeting Ocifer Farva we’d head on our way to finish our coverage. One thing I noticed as people cruised the show was that everyone seemed to be getting along and having a good time. That’s good to see and ensures the longevity of this show. After the show was covered and people became hungry we’d all head back to the hotel to get cleaned up and prepare for the night. A large group of us would gather at Red Lobster for some good ol’ seafood grub and good drinks. After having our fill of food and drinks it was onto the Karaoke bar. Once we arrived to the bar we’d meet up with a large group of people in the scene. With some pool being shot, air hockey being played and beers pounded we’d be sure to take in some great singing (yeah right.. haha) before heading out. Runners have it that Gerber was egging people on to hit him and eventually got railed. Good times!

Come Sunday and well rested we’d check out, pack up and head back to the show. While there I’d walk a little of the event to meet up and say good byes to some friends, hang out with my club members of RA and then head to the airport to head home for some much needed rest.Although there is a LOT that’s not being said in this article I’m sure I’ll be back as this was a great weekend and a great show. If you’ve never been then you should probably plan on attending at least once just to say you’ve gone. Thanks goes out to all that helped get me way to drunk night in night out. Koolaid… I’ve never seen so many people puke in one weekend and I’d say it had to be because of you. What was the last count, 13 people you managed to get to puke? Good times!!!!By Garrick Arends
