Okay now, did someone come and mess with my calendar or is it really September? One minute the show season has just arrived, and the next it’s on its way out. While I’m on the subject of on its way out, it saddens me that such great weekend events as West Coast Nationals, Endless Summer and Resolutions are going to be no longer. That doesn’t leave much for the West Coast when it comes to runs. Well, actually this past month we managed to cover a couple 3-day events on the West Coast along with Indy Bash and others. But unfortunately our coverage of Summer Cal Jam ended up not being taken. So to those at Cal Jam expecting to see your ride in this issue we apologize and just to let everyone now, we will NOT miss another well known event like that again no matter what the reason.
While all our other issues have had mini’s, van’s and SUV’s on the cover, this month we managed to muster up an Import well worthy of its cover shot. With Michelle Yernest’s Late husbands thoughts in mind, this Import is a show winner in any judges book, but I’ll let all of you have the deciding decision of that. Along with her feature, we have the usual best of the best when it comes to SUV’s, Mini’s or compacts. While managing to muster up some features while at BSL’s show in Northern California this past month along with my dodging of Hail….I mean Heat Wave to grab a few put with the usual bad ass work of Copy-Editor Bobby Stewart I’m sure that everyone will enjoy this issue just as much if not more then the past.
The past few months Kevin Whipps has been a very busy guy getting his SSM Ford Focus project wagon going. In this issue Kevin provides us with a step-by-step process on how to install a Street Beat ragtop. By following along with these procedures, just about anyone can hook up their ride (with the proper tools). Also Kevin finally got his Wheels and tires bolted up along with the juice, which makes for the first custom Focus Wagon. There is still plenty more to go with this project so you will all have to stay tuned for that!
With the love of you, the viewers, our site has become one of the top of its kind. We’ve had to now change servers to handle the traffic for the second time in as many months. Although it has caused a few growing pains, it has been a great experience. We plan on putting up a few new sections for everyone to get involved with in this month and we are always updating the site so make sure to check back often.
One last thing……does anyone run into road construction as much as I do?? I mean it seems like every out of town show or run I attend, I hit road construction at some point, that slows me down. I was just curious if I was the only one that has encountered this for the past 6 or so years of show traveling.
