With Stereo’s and over all performance being an eye catcher on the islands Alvin would first concentrate on getting the engine into top-notch contention. Getting things moving forward Alvin would have many stock items replaced by GM Performance products such as the crankshaft, rods, push rods, 3-angle valve job, Springs, retainers, lifters and bearings. Next on the performance list would be a set of JE 8.5:1 Pistons with JE rings. A Flex-A-Lite cooling fan and engine oil cooler would be the next item installed to keep the engine running at a safe temperature. The engine would then be ported .30 over and equipped with an ARP head stud kit. Not yet where he wanted to be with his performance Alvin would install a Cyclone manifold with cyclone crossover pipe, Cyclone ported and polished throttle body. With the new Cyclone components installed Alvin would have the need to install a PT&E / T68 Stealth Turbo with 18 lbs of boost.

An Apexi/HKS/Fast computer system turbo timer and other electronic components would be installed to ensure engine top-notch performance, a set of 83lb injectors would be installed to ensure proper fuel to the engine. With the new flow of fuel, exhaust would be in issue. To balance things out Alvin would have a 3-inch exhaust with Gibson muffler custom fit from the Gibson back. A 250 amp Ohio Generator alternator with GM Performance Distributor, coil and wires would then all be installed to keep current flowing through out. To get the power to the wheels Alvin would have a custom 700R4 Transmission by McCoy Motorsports of Pikeville, KY installed along with a modified stock shaft by Advance Driveline of Orlando, FL. A Limited slip with 3:42:1 would be installed to get both wheels spinning. Needing the engine to shine on the show scene Alvin would have the engine block stripped and painted Chevy orange to match the color on the valve covers while all of the water cooler pipes would be chromed along with all of the brackets through out.
