In his first few months of building up the GTI Jeff went for the show and go look, but soon realized that good looks didn’t get very far at the truck. Jeff opted to ditch the shaved front and rear bumpers that he had custom built, and swapped out his 18” BBS RC’s for a set of 16” VW gunmetal wheels to lighten things up a bit. Bolting up the new front and rear bumpers next he rolled the fenders up front so that he could fit his 15” Keskin KT-3 drag wheels wrapped in Micky Thompson 26” slicks when he needed to use them at the track.

The next thing Jeff would do was to hook up with Jason Lipps at Kens Auto body in Roxbury, NJ to build a custom trunk setup to house the fuel cell he needed to run. The fuel cell helped to cut weight. Jeff and Jason started by ditching all the spare tire well contents then cutting out the spare tire well and welding in a steel box which would house the fuel cell. The fuel cell was bolted in and was plumed in to the Aeromotive fuel pump via steel braded line.
